The “Creating Families” Adoption Program of Adoption Priorities, Inc. is a private, domestic adoption program placing newborns. API works with birth parents that are seeking to place their expectant child into a loving and caring adoptive placement.
Most adoptions are open or semi-open adoptions and involve some level of contact between the birth parents and adoptive parents. API will work with the adoptive family and birth family to determine the best type of adoption for the families involved.
Program Highlights:
· Becoming a parent!
· Participating in adoption preparation classes.
· Meeting the birth parent(s) and learning their background.
· Being involved in the pre-birth and delivery of your baby.
· Specialized services to meet the needs of your family.
Program Requirements:
· You must be 25 years of age.
· You should be financially self-sustaining.
· You may be married, single, divorced or widowed.
· If married, should be for at least two years.
· You should be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
· You should be willing to attend parenting classes.
· You will participate in a home study.
Types of Children Available for Adoption:
· Newborns. Occasionally, we may receive referrals for young toddlers.
· Hispanic and African- American and bi-racial babies, and occasionally Caucasian.
Given the nature of this program, adoptive families may not select the sex of the baby.
